To celebrate the Limerick launch of the UNESCO Knowledge for Change (K4C) Programme, the University of Limerick K4C team are delighted to invite those of you interested in Community-Based Participatory Research and arts-based methods to a workshop facilitated by Darlene Clover and Budd Hall from the University of Victoria, Canada.
The workshop will take place in Seomra na Gaeilge (LC0-016), Languages Building on Tuesday 11 February from 11.00-13.00 (Tea/Coffee from 10.45)

Workshop Description: Darlene and Budd will facilitate a two-hour workshop on arts-based research. Arts-based research has proven to be a powerful approach to co-constructing knowledge in community research settings and community-university research partnerships. This workshop will serve as a review for those who are already working with these approaches and as an introduction for others.
The following format has been planned.
- Darlene and Budd will share their backgrounds in arts-based research
- Introductory activity: participants will share the type of work they do and what they know of art-based research / questions they have
- Brief introduction to arts-based research
- Experiencing arts-based methods: (1) A poetry making “I am” exercise (Budd)
(2) Metissage – a weaving of stories (Darlene)
- Debriefing of the activities
- Closing remarks
