UL graduate wins Short Story Prize

listowelMany congratulations to David O’Donovan (Creative Writing MA, 2017) who has been announced as the winner of the 2018 Listowel Writers Week Bryan McMahon Short Story Prize for his story Skinned Knees. This is a great achievement for David. The prize has previously been won by such major writers as Christine Dwyer Hickey and comes with an honorarium of three thousand Euros.

David has an MA in Festive Arts from the Irish World Academy and an MA in Creative Writing from UL. As well as being a very talented writer, he is the Co-Founder of the i.ny festival that brought Jane Sanders to UL last year and he was one of the advisers for our Creative Writing Festival.

Congratulations to David as well as to all our Creative Writing colleagues.
