Congratulations to Dr Kathryn O’Sullivan (School of Law, University of Limerick), who has been selected by the Ireland Canada University Foundation (ICUF) as a Dobbin Atlantic Scholar for 2017/18 to visit and conduct research at Schulich School of Law, Dalhousie University, Canada.
The Schulich School of Law is the oldest university-based common law school in the British Commonwealth and was founded in 1883. In the Times Higher Education (THE) 2018 rankings for ‘Law’, it ranked 6th in the Canada and 74th in the world. In particular, it placed an impressive 2nd in Canada and 12th in the world among law schools for academic citations.
The ICUF was established in 1993 and is supported by the Governments of Canada and Ireland. It is the mission of ICUF to support and develop the relationship between Canada and Ireland, through the organisation and facilitation of scholarly exchange between both countries. Scholarships are awarded to candidates of the highest calibre, whose work relates to both Irish and Canadian interests, and provides the potential to develop ongoing international links in that area.
