Languages Week at UL

The 26th September marks the European Day of Languages. To mark the event, UL is holding a series of events for the week of 26-30 September on campus.

The UL Languages Week 2016 website is now live: Everyone is encouraged to take part. Events include a Language Photobooth in the main Plaza, themed meals across campus, language taster classes, talks, workshops and readings, a spinning class in French, and lunchtime performances at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance.

Any day you can:

  • Practise a language you know over coffee
  • Display your languages by dropping over to the main plaza at 12
  • Dip your toe into  a new language with a lunchtime taster class at 1pm
  • Try out different international lunches at Eden, River Café and the Cube

You can also check the programme for individual events.

Finally: make a difference – please consider donating your small change at a variety of outlets and Main Reception – all monies collected will be donated to Doras Luimní to support the great work they do in providing language classes for refugees and migrants.

UL Languages Week 2016 is a collaboration between School of Modern Languages and Applied Linguistics, Aonad na Gaeilge, School of Culture and Communication, International Office, Cooperative Education and Careers Division, Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, UL Arena, Aramark. With special thanks to Catherine Jeanneau at the Language Learning Hub.
