Survival of the Death Sentence, a special issue of the Taylor & Francis journal Parallax, was recently published, co-edited by David Coughlan (University of Limerick), Christoforos Diakoulakis, David Huddart (Chinese University of Hong Kong), and Elizabeth Wijaya (Cornell University).

Responding to Jacques Derrida’s The Death Penalty, Volume 1, the special issue explores the afterlife of the death sentence in literature and film. David’s own article is entitled “The Drive to Read: Freud, Oedipus and Ishiguro’s The Unconsoled.”
